Message from Ceto to Medusa
By: Angelique
Medusa, Medusa the prettiest of all,
What happened to you is hard to recall.
The day when I first laid eyes on you,
Was one of the best, you simply took away my breath.
I was so ecstatic to have another daughter,
But you were even better than what I expected.
Your golden-locks were curly from the start
And your skin was as white as snow.
I knew you were a Gorgon, but something was different
You were the lucky one allowed to be mortal.
Your sisters were jealous they could not stand you,
However you had no control about expressing your beauty.
As you grew older, you became one of the prettiest maidens.
One that could sway a man off his feet in seconds,
But when you met Athena you decided not to marry,
My heart was shattered into one hundred pieces.
After a few years you actually decided to marry,
Even though I was happy, it was a mistake.
Within a day your beauty was destroyed,
Your golden-locks turned into venomous pythons,
Your snow white skin was now a vomit green,
And your eyes would turn everyone into stone.
My beautiful daughter was completely destroyed,
You were my pride, but now you are my greatest fear.
I will always love you to the moon and back,
But we must never meet again in this life.
You must now fend for yourself but you can do it,
I have faith in you, farewell my daughter.
